Lost Lives

Lost Lives

In 1865 Paul Bogle was hanged. Mr. George William Gordon, tried by court-martial at Morant Bay also was hanged. A year later, Mr. Edward Eyrie, responsible for these actions was recalled and dismissed from Imperial Service.

This sequence was “another instance of victory won by a battle lost”, as Mark Twain said.

There was another lost battle that also brought victory. A man called Jesus lost his life on a blooded cross. But he saved the human race in the process.

He rose to life again. Others thought they had defeated him. But he won. Now, life in him is victorious living.
